Asakusa district, near the famous Senso-ji temple in Taito, Tokyo. I was fortunate enough to be there during the Sanja Matsuri festival this year. The main street (Nakamise-dori) leading to the temple is lined with hundreds of small shops and eateries.
During the three day festival, numerous mobile food stands are allowed to set up in the neighboring streets- Freshly prepared rice crackers and seafood dishes are plentiful, as are delicious mochi and red bean desserts.
Throughout the weekend, millions of tourists and locals alike will visit the shrine.
Wonderful shots! You’ve captured the bustle and excitement of the feztival very well.
